Review

I can't mention it enough. Reviewing albums makes 'the world go
round' . Getting to know artists that want their 'baby' to be
reviewed on www.jazzandsoul.eu just makes my heart jump.
Nevertheless, as an independent wesbite we're obliged to listen
to these works as objective as possible and while this sometimes
is quite difficult, I'm stunned again every day when I notice the
amount of quality music released while our charts are chock -
full with crap.
Another one of those great albums to arrive at Jazzandsoul HQ,
is the self - titled debut CD of Honey Brown. ...

James Gathings - BMF review | jazzandsoul.eu

Review

James Gathings, a new singer, songwriter, producer puts his nose
against the window with his first six track project BMF.
A CD containing experimental urban jams with street attitude
lyrics and playful rhythms.
On the first track, Bad Mothafucka, James spits his words over a
heavy drum and some biting guitar licks. A song, containing quite
some common features with for example Lenny Kravitz' work. ...

Review

The Urban Retropolitan Movement is the brainchild of Neal
Conway (who has cranked hits such as Gypsy Woman "She's
Homeless" (Crystal Waters), Rejoicing (Ultra Naté), ...).
A project featuring artists such as Robyn Romele, Dana Weaver,
and Marshall Booze.
Love like That and Stop & Go, both smooth, mid - tempo jams,
open the doors into this collection of fourteen neo - soul, lounge,
jazz, disco and spoken word fusions. ...

Review

Tracking new and gifted soul talent, promoting
independent artists through his show on Solar Radio,
we're talking about Phil Driver. With his latest Soul
Unsigned EP concept, Mr. Driver is collecting, what
he believes, tracks that need to be heard from a
couple of bands that either have no formal recording
contract or are operating out of small independent
record companies.
Need to say ... much respect for these projects.
EP:001 and EP:002 both contain 4 tracks of soulful,
funky, good vibe grooves. ...

Beackah Shae - Joy review | www.jazzandsoul.eu

Review

With her debut album Butterfly, Beckah Shae gained quite some
fans around the globe with her refreshing soulful sound.
After two years now, she returns with a follow - up entitled Joy.
After a very decent debut, it often however seems diificult to
equal the standard quality on a second release. Beckah Shae's
Joy however goes beyond, proving that she has grown as a
singer and an artist and is ready for the next level.
The album features fifteen tracks with a variation in different
styles from intimate soulful sounds to poppy R&B tunes that I
would like to describe as a cross between Mary J. Blige and
Rihanna.
Now, vocally, Beckah Shae can easily stand the competition as
her pipes have a crystal clear timbre. ...
